Why is it cool?
Netherlands is known for its many bikes. To differentiate yourself in this mass, you can decorate your bike. Nowadays you see many bikes with a (plastic) basket. These are often decorated with plastic flowers.
Of course you can paint your old bike a nice color. Previously this was done if you had a bike stolen.
